Good point. A sofa store with 56 thousand reviews is certainly a highjacking.
It would be helpful if you could also add information as to whether you have tried to fix the problem yourself. Did you provide feedback on maps to get it fixed? And please add the GPS coordinates to the correct position of the Science-City.
Then you are doing great. Providing feedback and including a link to this thread might also speed up getting the issue fixed. The only last thing you could do is to review and comment on the different fields under suggest an edit. What info belongs to the science-city and what info do you suspect belongs to the sofa store. And if any of the recent photos and reviews belong to the sofa store you could point them out for the Googler who will be fixing this.
Cheers and thanks for being a very observant local guide.
Hello @PritishB brother!
It’s sorry to know this place name has been changed. I can see here a good conversation. Hope that problem will be fixed soon.
Through my knowledge want to say if this type problem can be found, it’s to do better, edit one local guide and provide check the fact link to known local guide for verifying.
I’m saying this so that we don’t make too much edit for one place at a time. Here it’s a big issue, thanks for knowing others.
@TusharSuradkar Thank you for joining the conversation. Yes, such an incident is really sad, but the google team has fixed the problem now. Kudos to Google team.
@SDatta Yes dada. Team WBLG has done it, and will do it again in the future. #WeAreTeamWBLG
@Farhan21 Thank you for your valuable comments and opinion. Yes the Google team has now fixed it. You are doing great for your country Bangladesh and hopefully, you will continue this.
I want to share something great done by team google. A few days ago, the name of Science City- a famous tourist spot of Kolkata, India was changed. It never looks good if famous place names in maps turn wrong. @DrShaunak noticed it and told in our West Bengal Local Guide community. I posted this issue in connect (Click here to read). And I tagged google moderator @DeniGu to look into this matter. Heartiest thanks to her for her prompt response.
The issue has been fixed now and the name and location of that famous tourist spot is now perfect in Google Maps. (In the attached gif, the red mark indicates the wrong name and location, and the green mark indicates the correct name and location). Kudos to the team for their great effort.
