Sometimes back I have submitted an edit regarding naming to few unnamed roads. My edits were approved too but name of the roads still blank in Google map. Please advise/suggest that what is going wrong. I am enclosing screenshot of the mail received and link of dropped pin of the roads.
Hi @AjjuR thanks for reaching out, I find that the road name changes seem to take quite a long time in the best of times, in the current situation with reduced functionality available in Maps I recommend patience. Given they are approved they should come. You can read about the Temporary product changes in Maps during Covid-19.
Sometimes with road changes I need to deleted my cached data before I see name changes so you could try that.
This is interesting and unusual. Not that they were not implemented but the fact that you were able in the first place to suggest edits to name un-named roads via normal “Suggest an Edit”-link. In my experience, this should only be possible via providing feedback like described here: Steps to send us feedback
Maybe my lack of experience is due to the fact that not many roads around here are unnamed.
Maybe another local guide disagreed on the name you proposed and changed it back. Maybe the APPROVED feedback you got was faulty.
I think you need better help than what I can provide. @ErmesT would you help us out?
@MortenCopenhagen Thanks for your suggestion. I have submitted the edit through “feedback menu” only. It is not a single edit issue. The problem with other roads too. Not sure what’s wrong.
That makes a lot of sense, @AjjuR . Thanks for explaining that responses to Feedback also show up in our list of Edit contributions. That is the detail I never knew. Thanks for making this clear.
I think @PaulPavlinovich and @C_T gave you very good answers. Can you see “your” road names when you follow C_T’s tips?
I expect they will get through @AjjuR but please I do urge patience. I’ve seen some edits get approved and onto the Map but I’m sure the team will have a very large backlog to get through and that will take quite some time.
