A quiet place that I’ll introduce this timeas a post for #monthlytopic is Nabekura Park in Tono, Iwate. This is a memorable place that I spent time when I wanted to be alone in my youth.

Nabekura Park, which is on a small mountain and we need to climb stone stairs, is a good viewing spot in Tono. A lot of people gather here for festivals but usually almost nobody is there. I can be free from the town noises and crowds, and enjoy spending a good time while laying on a bench or walking. I can hear only bird chirpings and the sound of the wind. To tell you the truth, when I was a high school student, I wanted to be an author. This place was good for coming up with ideas.
Through the Torii gate at the entrance of this park and up the stairs, you will find Nanbu Shrine. Don’t forget to pray and greet the local gods. A cute (or creepy) kappa (a local folklore monster) will also welcome you.
There is Nabekura Observatory on the top of the mountain. You will be able to see the beautiful view of Tono. After enjoying a quiet space, please try to go there too. My recommended season is spring because of the very beautiful cherry blossoms.

[Japanese] 鍋倉公園
今回私が紹介する静かな場所は岩手県遠野市の鍋倉城公園です。この場所は私が高校時代、一人になりたい時に過ごした場所でもあります。町から小高い丘への階段を登った先にある鍋倉公園は、遠野の町を見下ろすことのできるスポットです。祭りがあるときには沢山の人が集まるこの場所も、普段はほとんど人がいません。車の音も殆ど聞こえず、ベンチに横になってゆっくりするには最高の場所です。木々に囲まれた空間に鳥の鳴き声と風の音だけが聞こえます。当時小説を書いていた私は、この場所でよく構想を練っていたものです。
せっかく階段を登ったのなら、途中にある神社にも挨拶するのを忘れずに。かわいい（こわい？）カッパが出迎えてくれます。
一番上まで登れば展望台があります。この場所からはもう少しだけ良い景色を眺めることができます。特に春にはとてもきれいな桜を鑑賞することもできます。
