Caption: The Cover Photo of the Cheetah.

Dear Friends,

A request - if you like the photos, can I request you to kindly TAG your friends, please? - let them also enjoy - right? - thanks for your favour.

This is a series of Photo Posts where I am going to introduce One animal in each post. Most of the photos are from different Zoos including Mysore Zoo, Vandaloor Zoo, Nandankanan Zoo etc. - in this post, let us discuss Cheetah.

Have you ever captured any photos of any wildlife? Can you give me company by publishing your shots?

The Cheetah

The cheetah is the fastest in the Felidae cat family & for the same reason, one of the most difficult animals to photograph. They are native to Africa and Iran. Its scientific name is Acinonyx jubatus and its genus is Acinonyx.

It is the fastest animal and recorded with a maximum speed of up to 114 km per hour. While chasing prey it may reach 80 to 100 km per hour.

Their body has small black spots and the underbelly is in white colour. They look similar to the Leopard but cheetahs have black spots on their body while leopards have rosette cookies like marks. On average cheetah reaches 30 inches of height, is 4 feet long and weighs between 30 to 70 Kg.

The Red List of IUCN listed them as vulnerable.

As an LG Photographer, I have spotted Cheetah in Mysore Zoo Here.

These are simply awesome pictures @TravellerG

I can clearly see the patience and skills with which you have shot this majestic animal in its best pose.

Great learning here for those who want to - the lighting, the composition, the frame - everything is praiseworthy.

For sharing this inspiring Photography of CHEETA ,

as this is fast running animal hence the photographer speed has to be in the similar momentum to catch the moment ,

The fastest animal in the world, very muscular and beautiful animal. It reminds me that the black stripes on the cheetah’s face are an evolutionary miracle that reduces the sun’s flashing eyes, and many soccer players imitate them. Thank you for sharing! @TravellerG

@TravellerG grear informative post & shots, quick fact from my side

  1. they have very rough tounge

  2. Their claws r non-retractable like other big cats

If I remember correctly, I spent almost half an hour to capture this animal; it was walking restlessly… So I wasted a lot of shaky shots.

Happy that you liked the photo 4… Really in action…

Thanks with regards… @Govind_Jha

“…I can clearly see the patience…”

You are correct… This animal being the fastest & most restless, it is very difficult to capture.

Yes, this wild cat is really dangerous… This animal climbs trees too! So, really dangerous.
