#MyMemories - Photo Post (17) - Photos of the Blue Peacock- TravellerG

Dear Friends,

A request - if you like the photos, can I request you to kindly TAG your friends, please? - let them also enjoy - right? - thanks for your favour.

This is a series of Photo Posts where I am going to introduce One animal in each post. Most of the photos are from different Zoos including Mysore Zoo, Vandaloor Zoo, Nandankanan Zoo etc. - in this post, let us discuss Blue Peacock.

Have you ever captured any photos of Blue Peacock? Can you give me company by publishing your shots?

Blue Peacock

The Indian peafowl is popularly known as the Blue Peacock (scientific name: Pavo cristatus). It is an inhabitant of the Indian subcontinent. It belongs to the Phasianidae family and its genus is Pavo.

The Blue peacock is different from other peasants by its size and long beautiful feather. The peacock has a blue colour feather and it displays the feather too. But when it comes to the peahen, it is comparatively small and doesn’t have the blue colour long feather. The Indian peafowl is the biggest among the Phasianidae family. The males have an average 200 cm length including the tail and weigh up to 6 kg. While the females are only nearly 100 cm and weigh up to 4 kg.

The IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) classified the Blue peacock as the least concern and the Green peacock as the endangered in its Red List.

As an LG Photographer, I have spotted blue peacocks in Mysore Zoo Here. Bannerghatta Zoological Park Here

Hola @TravellerG excelente publicación, hermoso ave, no sabía nada del peligro de extinción. Lamentable. (Broma: “no me etiquetaste” jajaja!!!).

Beautiful photos of peacock… They look like your posts…

Thanks for your company…

I thought of sending a separate link to you.

In LG Connect, if I tag the same person, some of the connect moderators complain… For reasons known to them only.

If I’m not tagging you in the main body of the post, I will tag you in the response FOR SURE…

Ciao… Friend

This bird just wouldn’t strut it’s stuff and I waited and waited for this but it just never happened. However, I did manage to get a shot of the beautiful color of its feathers.
