Hello everyone!
Last year I went to Los Angeles, and when I travel, I likes to know everything and have everything planned, so I became an expert in this beautiful city! I leave you the itinerary that I created to go, and some tips! I hope you find it useful!
We rented a car on Sixt. The treatment was excellent, I recommend them. They have a free bus that takes them from the airport of los angeles to the sixt. Don’t take a taxi, just wait for the bus.
We stayed at the My Sunshine Hotel, located at 1525 W 8th St, Los Angeles, CA 90017. I don’t recommend this hotel. The the location was very good, but the area was ugly and the hotel’s attention was not very nice. The best areas to stay are:
- Beverly Hills (expensive)
- Toluca Lake (great area)
- Santa Monica (a little far, but my favorite area)
Places of interest:
Griffith Observatory: Try to go early, parking the car became very difficult. You can go up to the observatory, and the view is one of the most beautiful that I have ever had.
Hollywood Sign: You have two options, you walk about five kilometers behind the poster, or you look for a nearby point. We walked until we found Lake Hollywood Park, where you have a beautiful view of the Hollywood Sing, and it is very quiet.
Dodger Stadium: I recommend getting tickets to see the Dodgers (the Los Angeles team). The atmosphere in the baseball matches is very nice, the food is excellent, a little expensive, but good. The matches are a bit extensive, but at least in my case, it was a good experience. In my country, baseball is not played, so it was all new for me.: https://goo.gl/maps/NA68ocd3pZP2Cdfm8
OUE Skyspace: In the center of Los Angeles there is a building that is the highest in LA, called OUE Skyspace. In this building you also have a beautiful view, you can see in the distance the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory, the whole city, and if the day is clear, you can see the sea. In this building, at the top, there is a glass slide in the air, if you look for photos on the internet you will see it, it is extreme, and it is an excellent experience.
Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood: it’s a tour of Warner Bros. studios. The truth is, it’s spectacular. I enjoyed every part of the tour, and the best thing is that they give it in several languages. Visit places that were used for emblematic shows, series sets like Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Big Bang Theory, Friends, and movies like Batman, and much more! There is a part dedicated to Harry Potter, excellent! The tour lasts about two hours.
Universal Studio Hollywood: Ideal for fans of Harry Potter, people who likes adrentaline, and simulators. Most of the games are simulators, there are some roller coasters. I recommend you to buy the fast pass, I really recommend it, you save a lot of time. If you go by car, at the entrance you must choose what type of parking you want: near, fairly close, or far from the park. The best attractions (for me) were:
The walking dead
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey
Studio Tour
King Kong 360 3D
Transformers
Jurassic Park-The Ride
When leaving Universal, remember to tour the CityWalk. It is on one side of the park and you can shop, or just go, it’s interesting.
Santa Monica: For me, the most beautiful place. I recommend you go early. Go from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach, walking or cycling. I recommend having lunch at Del Frisco’s Grille, it’s not expensive, the service is excellent, and the food is spectacular.
Places in Santa Monica to see:
Pier: you can walk under it, we went on sunset, and it was magic. This is a video I took there: https://goo.gl/maps/dqPbhgsAv2b9VdU97
Santa Monica Place
Third Street Promenade
Places in Venica**:** https://goo.gl/maps/21zqPgLrwMxupxXP6
Venice Sign
The Venice Beach Boardwalk
Venice Canals (I really recommend this place !!!)
Other places I recommend visiting:
Madame Tussauds Hollywood
Hollywood Museum
Walk of Fame
Chinese Theater
Tour Beverly Hills
The Grove - Outdoor shopping
Beverly Hills Shopping
LACMA Lights
Petersen Automotive Museum
If you are a fan of the supercars, we found an excellent place, which does not appear in the tourist guides, it is a house where they sell Rolls Roys and McLaren, the people who attend let us pass, get on the cars and take pictures, the address is 8833 W Olympic Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211, USA UU and the link in google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/x6CSfB8EFuN3ArLW9
Long Beach: It is a bit far from Los Angeles, but it has some obligatory stops:
Aquarium of the pacific
Queen Mary
Also, visiting Long Beach is very nice, it’s a beautiful area.
I hope that my summary has been useful, and if you have any questions or comments, or if you want mor pictures, you can contact me: nicoykatyviajes, I will be available to help you as much as I can!
Bye!!!
