My travelling to Marocco.

Today I would like to tell you about my trip to Marocco.

The famous mosque Koutoubia in Marrakesh.

10 years ago I was in Morocco, the rest was wonderful,as if I had been in the Eastern fairy tale.Majestic palaces, parks, gardens, mountains and everywhere orange and tangerine trees.Very beautiful country. The climate is wonderful, there is no exhausting heat, the sea breeze blows and always feel comfortable.I was vacation in Agadir, but I also visited Marrakech and Essaouira.

I can give you some tips,if you are going to visit Marocco.

In Agadir you need to visit the port, an ancient fortress, an observation deck, which offers a magnificent view of the city., Muhammad mosque 5 and of course the local market where you can buy sweet oranges and tangerines.Visit the ancient part of the city-Medina.In souvenir shops I bought products from a tree thuja .They are beautiful and have a pleasant smell.(you can see them in my album)

Marakkesh is one of the most ancient, exotic Imperial cities.it is called "Red city"because the houses and roofs of the houses are red-orange.It is worth visiting the Old town to walk in the evening on the square of Jam " AEL Fna, where in the evening there is a performance with snake charmers. We did not dare to stay in the crowded square in the evening,so as not to meet with accidentally escaped snake. We watched the show a few days later at the hotel. We saw the famous mosque Koutoubia, the Palace of Bahia. And of course you should visit the garden of Majorelle, where for a long time was the famous couturier Yves Saint Laurent.Admire the beautiful blue-blue buildings, exotic plants from all over the worldâ€Ļ

I have a post " Garden Majorelle",but the video is not mine, from -YouTube.

When you are in Marrakech be sure to visit the local colorful market-this you will not see anywhere else.Try freshly squeezed orange juice in the market square.,buy local spices, look at the carpets handmade Berber masters.

After Marrakech, we went to the picturesque town of Essaouira. It is famous for its beauty ,white houses with blue roofs. The beaches of this city like surfers.Medina-a unique part of the city, the gate to the city opened the way leading to the main mosque. This city is called " the white pearl of the Atlantic"

And on the last night of our vacation we left a trip to the Berber evening with dinner at 20 km from Agadir. We tried the famous Moroccan cuisine with local wines.Watched traditional dances and listened to songs .

Of course it was unforgettable camel riding in the desert and walks in the evening along the coast ,where there is always a lively life, interesting concerts, festivals.I’ll tell you about the kitchen separately.

Local cousine is vey tasty-it is worth to taste.

it is worth trying these dishes------Fish tagine,Chicken tagine,Vegetable tagine,Lamb tagine,

Couscous royal,Lamb couscous,Chicken couscous,

Pastila au pigeon,Fresh sea food pastila, chicken pastilla

Grilled octopus.

Very tasty strong green tea with mint or other spices, refreshes well on a hot day and gives cheerfulness.A wonderful brew of strong coffee.,served in small cups with milk or a glass of water.Mahia-local vodka from figs and herbs.

Hi @helga19 ,

Thank you for sharing your trip to Morocco. I did not expect it so quick but I am glad to read it.

Your tips are very useful and it was interesting for me to read about the food. I definitely want to try the couscous royal. It sounds like I won’t be hungry for a couple of hours after I eat it.

I’ve seen photos of Marrakesh and I am sure I will like it but I also want to visit the “blue city” Chefchaouen. Have you been there too?

Hello @helga19 ,

Thank you for sharing your trip to Morocco with us, i had a huge smile on my face while reading it and watching at your photos. I know all these places by heart and they bring back so many beautiful memories.

Throughout your description I have noticed that you’ve visited mainly the southern part of Morocco. Next time you have to see Fez, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Tangier, etc.

I saw that you’ve tasted my favorite Moroccan dish, the chicken bastila! Did you try the specialty of Marrakesh, the tanjia? The tanjia is meat with whole little potatoes cooked in a clay pot.

Hello dear @MoniDi thank you for your comment.I answered quickly because of my habit of not putting things off until later.I try to do everything at once) I also answered quickly because there is a second habit–to save my notes, travel brochures, excursions and business cards of hotels in those countries where I was.And it’s easy for me to remember everything that was 10,8,5 years ago, because there are my personal records.

No,I have not been in ''BLUE CITY"/I only visited south part of Marocco.

I am glad that you like my post and my photos. The dishes is worth to taste.–Tagine,Couscous and Pastilla. The seafood is very delicious too.

Have a nice weekend!
