I don’t have a written down travel bucket list, so after reading @Bobiisha 's post, I decided to join @KatieMcBroom 's challenge to write about it in this post. When the world of travel is currently stop, I think this is the time to reflect on the places I’ve been and those destinations I’m still yet to visit. It’s fun to remember those past experiences and also a motivation to tick another place off of my list. So, these are my top five bucket list places:
1. Santorini, Greece
The glorious island in Santorini is consistently placed at the top of my bucket list. I saw the dreamy photos online, adored the white and blue dome-shaped buildings, and made it to my phone wallpaper for years, hoped one day I would step my feet at this place. And the dream came true when I got my Schengen Visa approved. It also marked my first trip to Europe. So, it was quite memorable. The postcard-perfect breathtaking village of Oia, was without a doubt, took my breath away.
I want to come back for: Shipwreck Beach, Mykonos, Meteora
2. Seoul, South Korea
Growing up watching K-drama and listening to K-pop, I always dreamed of visiting South Korea. I was lucky enough to be invited to South Korea through winning a calligraphy competition. From the historical places, delicious food, to the K-pop music show, I’m very grateful to have experienced all of them. I also made new friends from different countries.
I want to come back for: Jjajangmyeon (Korean black bean sauce noodles), cherry blossom experience, Nami Island
3. Disneyland California, USA
I want to visit for: Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disney California Adventure Park, Disneyland fireworks
I love feeling like a kid again, that’s why I love going to Disneyland. This is the place where imagination has no limits and happiness is contagious. I’ve been to two Disneylands so far, in Hong Kong and Shanghai. I really want to visit the first one ever created by Walt Disney in Anaheim, California. Isn’t it amazing to know that some of Disneyland’s earliest rides still exist today? I can’t wait to experience it all.
4. Sydney, Australia
I want to visit for: Sydney Opera House, kangaroos, koalas
Sydney is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Australia. I really dream to go exploring the city and take photos in front of the unique Sydney Opera House. I also have an old friend whom I want to visit in Sydney. They said, if you visit Australia and don’t see a kangaroo and a koala, then you haven’t been to Australia. So, I would definitely love to see them in person. I once saw koalas in Taipei Zoo, but unfortunately we couldn’t interact and take photos with them. I’m saving this country for a special occasion and when it happens, I’m sure it will be wonderful.
5. Jaipur, India
I want to visit for: City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Amer Fort
I’ve always seen the eye-catching architecture photos from this country and it seems so rich in culture I wouldn’t experience anywhere else in the world. Jaipur, the Pink City of India looks magical, like something out of a story book but it is a real place. I imagine, wandering through this city, exploring the fairytale setting, indulging in the rich Indian culture will be amazing! I adore the beauty of Jaipur and couldn’t help but add it to my travel bucket list.
