My tourist notes about Treviso.

Hello dear friends,

Today I would like to tell you about my visit to Treviso ( Ebbrezza Wine Meet Up 2.)

and share my video.

Treviso has a bright personality and unique atmosphere of “little Venice”. The road here are paved with stone, midieval walls, small channells, trees over the water. All this create a unique charm of the city.Attractions a little bit and all of them can be seen in one day.Piazza dei Signori alone contains many architectural monuments.Palazzo dei Trenchento ,the Palace of the Prefecture, town Hall,Chuch of St.Nicolas.The narrow streets of the city are particulary beautiful, its unique architecture, green and flowes on the balcony. In my video you will see the Church of S. Francesco, built in the 13th century. The tomb of Petrarch and Dante’s son are preserved there.Dante himself mention Treviso in his novel ." The city, where the river Hookah and Sila merge.

Tourists are not many,so you can enjoy here the piece and silence of the streets.People are friendly.Of course as visiting Treviso not to try famous teramisu,Treviso is considered the birthplace of this magnificent cake. The pictutesque fish market Isola della Pescheria is worth to visit.Of course you should try the famous sparkling wine Prosecco. With Italian local guides we visit villa Sandi.

I was curious to see the 16 th century fountain in the courtyard of the house om Canova street.Fountain della Tette.-fountain of female breast. This unusual fountain with figure of magnificent lady appeared in honour of the victory over the Venetian Republic.

The locals tells that in honour of the holiday of 3 days ,from woman’s breasts flowed wine. When you are in Treviso don’t forget to taste risotto.! During a walk throught the city, look at the beautiful frescoes on the wall of the buildings ,there more than 500.

Walking aroung the town will bring a lot of pleasure-------graceful bridges, weeping willows, nice houses, elegant architectute, fragrant coffee and a glass of Prosecco.

Hi @helga19 ! Yes, all you have mentioned (prosecco, tiramisu, the monuments and people) make this city great. From here you can get to the sea or in the mountains in a very short time! Near here you can reach other excellences of Veneto: Verona, Venice, Padua and let’s not forget Vicenza, the city of Palladio! Great post as usual and love your video!

Bye,

David

I am very happy that you loved my small town. Yes, we feel good in here, and Prosecco is a “must have” together with Tiramisù.

Vicenza is beautiful too. Do you know that I met @davidhyno in Vicenza for the World Wide Photo Walk Vicenza? If you like classic architecture, Vicenza is the perfect place to visit. Thanks to @plavarda for being our Local guide in there

Hi @helga19 ,

Thanks for sharing!

Amazing post like always! This place is adorable and I really enjoyed watching the video. I love Italian cuisine and I’m impressed about the food photos. I can promise, I wouldn’t miss the risotto. Did you like the wine there? I prefer dry red wine, and they have pretty good ones.

Ciao @helga19

Vero @ErmesT @davidhyno @AntonellaGr @mariacristinafossa ?

I visited Italy more than 5 years ago–I was in Milan,Rome,Neapol,Vatican,San-Marino,Verona.

It was tour CLASSIC ITALY. I decided to visit Italy after the film “Letters to Juliet”, which made a strong impression on me.

Hey @helga19 ,

I am really glad when someone visit my country and appreciate it. I checked the list of places that you visited and they are all beautiful. But you haven’t been yet to Tuscany and Liguria, and as we are really proud of our roots and lands I am suggesting you to visit them as soon as you got the chance. I can give you some useful tips if you ever want to go there.

Very nice photos @helga19 , thanks for the reply! I would try prosecco as well.

If you visit Budapest, go to the Törley museum, they make amazing prosecco.

You are too kind, @Sorbe

Well, we love to have people visiting our small town, and we are trying always to give them the possibility to enjoy the life at his best.

I will close my eyes, @Petra_M , about Prosecco (a strictly controlled trademark that define the very limited area that can use the label “prosecco” in the name of the wine), but I know that in several places around the world you can find wonderful white sparkling wines, produced with the Classic or the Charmat method
