A Little bit of history, I have been to the falls area 30-40 times over the last 40 years, It was my wife’s favourite place to visit and we only lived 2 1/2 hours away.
I had done the Hornblower boat cruise a few years and it was fantastic , highly recommended, but I still had a few things to cross off the bucket list. So I spent a fun day doing them.
First a nice trip down the incline railway with a beautiful view of Horseshoe Falls. I should have taken the rail car up instead of down, less walking.
You enter a tunnel and go behind the falls, The floor gets a little slippery but you get to about 15 feet directly behind the falls. The noise of the falls is loud.
Yes @TusharSuradkar thank you, a lot of people make that mistake, you really can’t see them from the American side, the Canadian side is better for viewing. I think If I remember right it was 26.00$ Canadian for the ticket, for behind the falls. Lots of shops and eating places in the main building. Your right the views from thee tower are special.
It becomes a problem for visitors like me from India who are on a business or tourist visa of the US but cannot enter the Canadian side
I have advocated a neutral zone around the falls for such arrivals so that one can easily view the Canadian side as well without going through the Canadian visa process.
I will try and find out some more info for you @TusharSuradkar but right now it seems we are letting in visitors who have been double vaccinated and can show proof.
Such a beautiful place for one of the significant site of US-Canada. Thanks for sharing this in a fun and relaxing way @TerryPG You have been there 30-40 times and still going. It’s like I have been to Angkor Wat multiple times but still find the temple fascinating every time I set foot again in the temple.
WOW!! Beautiful pics and a great post @TerryPG ! This is my dream destination and wish to visit since childhood!
Well, you almost took me for a ride into it here. The views from the tower are breaktaking! Thanks for sharing with us! And what excatly was a barrel ride? Was it virtual?
Thank you @AjitThite I do hope you get to visit here one day, I’m sure you will. The barrel ride was a photo shopped photo, they gave you a choice of walking a tightrope, across the falls or the barrel ride or some others, needless it was fun and my family loved the photo
