My tour with the Gaethanos

Some time in April 2018, I got a call from my brother Brian who is currently living in the US. He told me a friend connected him to a US based family who were planing to visit their daughter and sister in Cameroon serving as a US peace Corp. He ask me if I was ready to be their tour guide which I gladly accepted. After I talked with Tyler on phone I came to understand he and his family were very friendly. We made the travel program starting from picking up Emily at the peace Corp office in Yaounde and later to pick up Sam, Tyler’s father Vera, Tyler’s mum and Tyler at the Nsimalen airport in Yaounde Cameroon. I was to excited to be of service as a tour guide though I had limited knowledge of Yaounde at that time hence I was forced to seek assistance from Google map. I later subscribed to join as a local guide after few days of moving with Emily’s family. We visited Bafoussam, Mbouda, Foumbot Fumban, Dschand. In Foumban we visited the Saultan’s palace the museum. In Dschang we we had a good meal at a classic restaurant by the lake and also visited the museum. In Bafoussam we visited the Mitche falls and the famous hotel Zingana. In Yaounde we visited the Boulangerie Francaise, Santa Lucia shopping center, Dovv shopping center, Tyler bought many artifacts from the Arts and crafts market we later visited the national museum. Most interesting visits was the Ape Action Africa a park were endangered species of apes, chimpanzees, Gorillas, monkeys were kept for protection from porchers. At the end of the tour I had to assist Emily in preparation of papers to transport her pet dog called Sid to the USA, a local dog she got at her work station in Banefo Meffi, a small village in the out skerts of Bafoussam town were she served as a United States peace corp. When I finally bid the Gaethano family good bye at the Nsimalen airport I felt a sense of fulfillment being both a tour guide and a google local guide. Since then I knew the sky is my limit.
