First, I gotta say that I ain’t a Chicagoer (I don’t know how Chicago people call themselves so I just made up one lol), thus, not like other recommend lists I’ve made, this one is more from a tourist perspective.
Since my trip in Chicago city was only a week long, I did some research before I went. And from what I’ve found, these 3 restaurants listed below are probably the most popular 3 in Chicago (even my Chicago friend said so, but there’s only one sample so I’m gonna reserve my views on it lol).
Anyway, a fine reputation does count, at least in this case. Voila! Here’re my top 3 Chicago pizza choices in the city.
1. Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
The first Chicago pizza in my life. I had it with some friends on my first night in Chicago. It also established my standard for Chicago pizza, which I gotta say, is a pretty high one.
2. Giordano’s
They have Monday to Friday lunch combo, which is a good deal. You can have a small pizza and a side dish at a fair price. Pizza is pretty great, and the crust is rather thin and dry compared with the other two.
3. Gino’s East South Loop
I made a mistake while I was ordering. The thing is that I didn’t find the solo combo deal so I ordered a SMALL pizza (but it’s actually for 2-3 persons). The pizza is undoubtedly great, but I just had too much. After the meal, I walked all the way to Planetarium to… you know, help digestion ;).
By the way, these 3 restaurants all have branches, so you can easily find them in Chicago city :).
