I recently stayed at Lumley castle, we were there for four days and it was great.
The staff were friendly and helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Set in beautiful grounds with only birdsong when you wake up, very relaxing. Here’s a bit of the history of Lumley, The castle itself dates back to 1388 with Sir Ralph Lumley (the castle is named after him) who was a well known figure of the time, a popular soldier renowned for his bravery, King James VI and I, stayed there in 1603 ,the King James suite is named after him, it was also the residence of the Bishop of Durham. They even have a resident ghost called the lady of Lumley.
Just as a reminder, don’t forget when responding to others make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.
