Not sure if I am posting this in the right place, but I cannot seem to get any of my reviews to post publicly, not even when they are no text, star-ratings-only reviews. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Morten, though initially I had more than one review, and none of them posted. I tried troubleshooting with help from the community at Google Maps, and they were the ones that suggested I become a Local Guide. However, my reviews still did not post. I ended up deleting them and now I am starting over. I know I haven’t violated any rules. Saying something to the effect of “this business did a great job and their service and prices are excellent” coupled with a 5-star rating isn’t exactly offensive behavior.
It would be really helpful if you would use the tagging tool when replying to someone here on Connect. Type @ followed by the username. Type slowly. Then we get an e-mail notification and you are more likely to get a prompt reply.
There are more aspects to the spam filter than we may anticipate. If you somehow is associated with a business (friend or family) this can also be an issue. If you write lots of reviews, very long reviews or publish the same reviews on more platforms you may get blocked.

Thank you for your continued assistance. No connection to the companies I reviewed, I only wrote three, and I’m not on any other platform. I will do as you originally stated and try doing a few more reviews, and see if that works. I wish it wasn’t so hard to give good reviews to businesses that have provided excellent goods and services.
PS, don’t know if this will help… I now have three short 5-star reviews written and I posted them. If I look at my Local Guide private statistics under “reviews”, it says 0. My profile at Local Guides Connect also says I am a level 1 contributor. However, on Google maps, under “my contributions”, I can see all 3 of my reviews, and Google maps says I am a level 2 contributor. Yet when I go incognito on my app, I can’t see my reviews at all. I am definitely not understanding this. ![]()
I also tried this: I emailed myself the “share” link from Google Maps for one of my recently written reviews, and then logged myself off of Local Guides and off of Google Maps. Then I clicked on the “share” link in my email and got this response:
This review is no longer available.
So on my personal account, when I am logged in, I can see my reviews. When I log off, not only can I not see my reviews, but if I try to share the link, it says my review is no longer available.
I don’t know how short, 5 star, no policy violations reviews are not posting. ![]()
The issue here could be that Google Maps is distributed over thousands of servers and it takes up to 24 hours before all the servers are aware of your new level and reviews. Also, some of the contribution stats are not updated in real time, and the spam filter may also still believe you could be a spammer. So please give it a few days and then report back.

Ok, I will give it until this weekend or the beginning of next week (depending on how busy I am) and report back. I know none of my reviews have violated a thing. I say the most simple things like “This company did a great job with the installation, I highly recommend them”, and I never put url’s or anything questionable like that. Thank you again for taking the time to try to help me.
I checked today (Saturday Sept 6) - still no sign of my reviews. I will check again on Monday.

I did three reviews total so far. They are showing on my account when I am logged in. Should I write more? Or do I have some setting in my account wrong that it isn’t showing my reviews?
Yes, please make 5 more reviews and 3 star-only-ratings.
Could you also add a couple of your own photos.
I’m suspecting that your account is considered spam or somehow not working properly.
Your profile could be set to restricted. If you want help to spot what could be the cause, you need to check your privacy setting as explained here temporarily. Please note, that you need to use an app since this can not be don’t from a Desktop.

Ok, I can add more reviews as you suggested. I don’t have any photos to add. I would have to take some. I did check my restricted profile setting: it is gray and to the left.

If you pass by a shop or three tomorrow, please take one clear photo of each. And upload them. You don’t need to review place to add photos.

Ok, Morten, I now have a total of 8 reviews and 3 ratings. I got an email that says I am now a Level Three Local Guide. All my reviews are positive, and do not contain anything that would be prohibited. I will have to snap some pictures on a different day. I do think something is broken with my account, but as of yet, no one has been able to help me or fix it. All I’m trying to do is review local businesses that have pleased me. It shouldn’t be so difficult!
PS, I can see all my reviews and ratings in my account.

No way!!! Something worked? You can see that I have contributions now?! I went on the app, though, in incognito… I still can’t see my reviews publicly posting. Hopefully my reviews will be public by Monday…
No wait, in incognito, I can see the five reviews I wrote today! I can still not see the original three though. But that seems like progress, I think? Should I try editing the older reviews to see if that helps get them to post?
