I will start with the major reason behind being a local guide, is to develop my country. In summer I went to New York for a internship. NY is one of the top cities in the world. On weekends I use to roam around city to see the beauty of it. It’s an amazing city, it has been developed in all ways like technology, infrastructure and other advancements. There I used google as my guide. Maps help me a lot because life in NY is so fast that very less people have time to help you but google was always there for me. Here in India if select the starting point and destination point it easily shows the routes if you are using a bike or car, but if u select public transport there are very few or sometimes no options available. In USA, Maps shows schedule of buses or subways or trains or sometimes even flights. It also shows approx UBER fare. But here in India there are very options so I decided to help them in improving the system so that people can easily access the routes and easily find there destinations. Other thing is I am a software engineer so I am interested in working of maps so I chose to be a local guide. Being a local guide is best thing because I can get to write a true reviews of places that I visit and also I get to share my opinion without anyone’s restriction.
If you also want to contribute in local guide program of Google, it is very simple to become a local guide. If you visit a place for example, consider a restaurant, google sends you the notification of that place that you are/were here asking would you like to rate this place? just say yes and start giving reviews, share photos, videos of that place. For every review or photo google gives you the points for your review. It’s an very easy and simple process there’s nothing difficult in it. Just start contributing to help others and make life easier…
