Thank dear friends for your kind, prompt & insightful replies - I will definitely take them into consideration.
As someone who is active on several platforms, I understand the importance of adapting your content to the relevant platform. For instance, my latest post has a different format compared to my previous posts, and I assume it is more logical for "travel reviews” – for instance, I emphasized the location of the place I’ve visited.
Despite those adjustments, there’s still certain parameters that I find to be super important - being precise, avoiding misleading thumbnails & titles, etc.
If you did check my stuff (only if you want to…) you will see that I tell my story in my unique way, including sharing details about the location, nearby attractions etc. (my videos usually emphasize that).
Also, I have my check-list of how to spread the word about my content online, and prefer to avoid bothering others by tagging them or asking people to promote my content - this is not supposed to be a popularity contest (like-for-like, sub-for-sub, etc.).
But even if I do everything according to the book - there’s always something else… At first, my posts were immediately monitored as spam due to the fact I gave link to my video, being generous with the number of photos I upload, and editing my posts more than once.
When something like this happens, even when my content is brought back, then it won’t be on the main page because it got “older” and then all the efforts I put in a certain post were for nothing.
The same story goes for a post that is shown for several minutes and then is gone, and several other issues that I’m mentioning occasionally…
I guess this is a new platform, and it has its issues, and over time this will get better - I am sure of that. But because I’m familiar with these issues from other platforms I’m bringing this issue to your attention.
If my content won’t receive exposure once it is published, people won’t be able to notice it (unlike YouTube or Google Maps, where your content can become a hit even several years after you posted it, and I know that from my personal experience).
While I am going to concentrate on improving what I do and learn from my viewers and colleagues, I still think that my starting point isn’t that bad, and that’s why I share with you my opinion on this matter.
Thanks again for acknowledging my inquiry, I appreciate each & every one of you!
Best regards,
OVR Guy
