I’m from Sri Lanka, and one thing that I’ve been doing is to edit and correct place or business names in the local language. Usually the points get updated within a few hours, but since yesterday I’ve noted that although the edit is accepted and updated, the points haven’t come through. I’ve noted that the edits have stopped at the 2500 mark. Is that the limit on Google’s side for edits? Or is this simply an accounting delay due to the large number of edits I’ve been doing recently?

Points for edits are usually given within 24 hours after the edit has been approved and it appears as “accepted” in your edit list, however time by time it may take a longer time, due to a delay of the synchronization of the databases and to the “low priority” of the information.
Google Maps is in fact prioritizing services like navigation, where the data must be available in real time, so in some case the sync on the points may be delayed (we are talking about the data of more than 150 millions of users).
So don’t worry, your points for the accepted edits will be updated soon

Thanks @ErmesT for that. I haven’t experienced this much of a delay before, but what you say makes sense - it may just be a “Google Dance” as it syncs the data.
I don’t think 2500 is a maximum limit, @NishanS . I have a little bit more than that, but I don’t usually monitor that number, so am unaware of the accuracy of my present figure.
Thanks. It’s been more than 48 hours now and this is the first time it’s gone that long without the points being updated just for one item. My review and photo points have gone up, but the edits are still stuck at 2500 items, but my edits have also been updated on Maps.
I marked your reply about the system working again after some days as the solution.
There is likely a link between the photos view graph flat lining and delays in updates of other metrics. So I think it is an indicator worth keeping an eye on.
@NishanS@MortenCopenhagen I started an intense Editing effort yesterday after listening to the Let’s Guide Podcast: Episode 50 by @JanVanHaver . I can confirm that most approvals came through within a very short period of time, but the points and edit count did not change until halfway through today. This evening I did another set of Edits, and approval emails have come through for most of them, again with no immediate change in points and edit counts. I’m assuming therefore that this delay is “normal”.
