I started contributing in the Google Maps even without knowing that I was contributing. When I needed something, Google is the very first thing that I visit. I remembered I was searching for a number of a pizza restaurant because I had a query before I wanted to go to the place. I was disappointed when the number I dialed was wrong. I read at the reviews of the restaurant and oh, many complains too and similar to my complain. So I tried to solve it. All that appeared in google including search results coming from the facebook link, I tried to call. Then alas! One of the numbers I saw was the correct one. And so I started exploring google maps so I could help others reaching the restaurant in the correct number too. From that time on, I do the same with other establishments that comes along my way. Until I reached level 5 and an invitation was sent to me. I feel like I was recognized of what I was doing. That invitation made me more aggressive and enthusiastic in getting involved with Google Maps. I explored more. I love to help people by providing accurate updates on contacts, giving my reviews and ratings base on my experience in the place. Being familiar with my place pays off when tourists/strangers come along my way and ask where is this or that place and I am able to provide them with an accurate answer. Having been to places too is worthwhile because when friends asks me about that place that I have been with, I feel like I am able to provide them an overview of the place and in my ordinary way, I am able to promote the place, and I am able to help them unnoticingly.
