My Own Little Thing

The late nobel peace prize winner, Wangari Mathai called upon each one of us to make a difference in the world. Her own little thing was planting trees. Mine is making places easily accessible to people through mapping and reviews. Whenever I come across something valuable, the urge to share it with others it too much for me to keep it to myself. Be it a detailed review or answering questions about a place,in my own small way I contribute to bettering the lives of others. Charity begins at home, I remember with nostalgia when my apartment was not mapped on Google; cab and uber operators had a very hard time locating and accessing our GPS location. Residents would opt to walk to the main road to make the drivers work easier. At wee hours of the night, this was a challenge for women and their children.I saw this challenge and mapped the apartments.

Am usually all smiles when my neighbors tell me how easy their lives are as a result of the mapping. They don’t have to walk to the main road;they just order a cab and the drivers come all the way,no getting lost. I derive a lot of satisfaction from this.I will continue with my own little thing of making the world accessible to people through mapping and reviews.
