My review WAS live, then disappeared. I don’t understand why. My review was factual, did not call names, did not use special characters… I can’t copy/paste the text here or this will be flagged as well. Is there a way for me to post my review here to get feedback on why it is hidden/being flagged?
What’s also strange is that my review is counting towards the business’ rating but yet is hidden.
@MortenCopenhagen@KatyaL I’ve read some of your feedback on similar issues and you both seem very knowledgeable. Can you please help me?
@user_not_found Best if you can give us more information so we know the context.
When you say removed, did you mean it disappeared, or did you mean only you can see it under your contributions, but doesn’t appear that location in Maps?
If you can see your review, but missing from the location, can you share your review link?
Can you share the location when that particular review is made?
The both links below you may have already read, but it could be useful as reference. Reviews or other contributions that don’t meet the content policy may be made private.
Also useful will be Google Maps User Contribution Content Policy below
@user_not_found Thanks for reaching out on connect community.
Reviews can be made private for many reasons including reports from business owners and other Local Guides, there are also other reasons such as two people reviewing the same place at almost the same time. It is worth checking the Maps User Contributed Content Policy for more information.
@user_not_found as @StephenAbraham has said reviews can be made private for many reasons.
I do notice that the photos you’ve contributed to the place do not meet the photo policy because of the added text.
I understand that you want to inform people of a negative experience. You need to be careful how you write a negative review to avoid getting yourself into trouble. You need to be completely factual and avoid emotional language. This can be very challenging.
This is your first post on Connect, and you have hidden your identity by not letting us see a link to your Google Maps profile. If this is the place, there is clearly some bitterness on display with angry reviews provided by google maps users with only a single or very few reviews. I would prefer not to get involved in any way in this. Using connect to try to get your voice heard in a hot conflict like this is in my view inappropriate. Please settle the matter, then later we can discuss the technicalities related to keeping reviews visible on Google Maps.
I’ve accepted your answer as solution, as for me it gives the correct information to Anonymous. If there are any further questions or something additional that needs the attention of a Google moderator, please feel free to tag me in this thread again. Thank you.
