My love for Google Maps

It’s been over 3 years now since I became an active user of Google Maps and I must admit that it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Google Maps allows me find places with ease, places such as restaurants, organizations, businesses, institutions and lots more.

I can still recall the first time I used Google Maps to find an organization where I was supposed to have an interview for a job. I was new to the city of Lagos, Nigeria, and it was primarily an invitation for a job interview that made me travel down to Lagos. Lagos being one of the most densely populated states in Nigeria with lots of places, organizations and institutions leaves newcomers with an uphill task when locating places of interest.

However, I had a decent experience when it was time for me to locate the organization where the interview was to be held. I looked up the place on Google Maps, and I found precise directions on how to get to the place with ease, joined a commute and then tracked my journey using Google Maps until I got to the organization. Yes it was that easy!

After such a decent experience with Google Maps, I made a commitment to include places that I visit, local businesses that I know and organizations that I work with on Google Maps so that more people can also benefit from my experience as well with ease.

Up to date I have included lots of businesses such as RegionAgency Nigeria, reviewed several places and organizations such as Yokogawa Nigeria, Venture Garden Group, NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp Adamawa and many other interesting places. The most recent place that I have also reviewed is the Atican Beach Resort & Hotel, where we visited for the Engineering Retreat of the Software Development Team of my organization.

All this would not have been possible without Google Maps. Thank you Google for this life-transforming tool.
