Today I will share the journey of my local guide.
I bought my first smartphone in 2015. I used to go to the school grounds and run the internet because there was no network at home. After a long time. One day in early 2018, when I entered the map to know the distance of a location on the map, how do I know that I have a profile inside the map. And 3 pictures uploaded, all photos received 4 thousand + views. I am quite surprised that so many people have seen my photo. !!!
It’s good to say that I love to take pictures. For this, the phone gallery had pictures of some organizations and places of interest. I started uploading them one by one. I would upload them and check how many views there were after a while. I started getting good views. It seems that so many people see the picture I took

This is how I used to upload pictures, I used to have fun. One day in the middle of 2018, a video of Local Connect Live 2018 came on YouTube. I also saw 2-3 Bangladeshis in that program. Then it started to work better to upload pictures on the map.
Then I opened an account in Connect Forum, opened it. I didn’t understand anything about Connect Forum, and I didn’t even try to understand. But the uploading of pictures on the map was going on.
Sometimes I cycled around Jashore with my roommate (I live in the mess), he would ride a bicycle and I would sit in the back and take pictures, then upload them on the map.
I also started adding 2-1 place and reviewing
At the end of 2018, the mail came that I had become the top 1% local guide in Jashore district in 2018.
The year 2019 also passed like this, although I could not upload any pictures in the last months due to phone theft in September. Then in 2019 I became the top 1% local guide of Jashore district again.
I want to be the top 1% local guide in 2020 too, although I don’t think I can because I sold my smartphone in June for personal reasons. I still upload pictures when I get someone else’s phone. I also add some place and correct the information of the place.
This is how my local guide journey went down.
I first found Bangladesh Local Guides (Local Guide of Bangladesh) in July this year. Then I realized how much I missed.I can also know about meetup. So far, I have only joined 1 meetup (global meetup). I don’t know if I will be able to participate in the group’s 150 th meetup after a few days, but I still have love for this group. And the contribution I made on the map by not being able to participate in the meetup or not getting a t-shirt will continue in the coming days and will increase even more.
The goal of the contribution to my map is that everyone in Bangladesh gets the right idea about all the places.
