What I love about being a Local Guide: I used to creating check ins of different missing places of my province One of my favorite thing is to create check ins of schools in underprivileged areas because I have seen people who even does not know about the school location the second thing which I love most is to travel and to try foods from different places because I believe food brings people closer together. One more thing is I love taking photos! When go for outing and picnic with family and post those photos on google maps, I quickly scope the place and take photos of the main points of interest and then I look for areas and hidden details some people might miss or not notice. My favorite thing to take photos of is the sunset. Those beautiful ever-changing colors make everything glow and look magical. Being a Local Guide gives me a chance to share my passion for finding a missing places schools and restaurants and also, I want to meet local around the world and share my thoughts with them.
Fun fact about me: I not only use google map to add restaurants but also trying to making life easier of the people living in underprivileged area of Sindh Pakistan, through creating check ins of MISSING FREE SCHOOLS I am also contributing to make education possible for every needy child. It makes me feel proud and encourage me to use google map in a social and positive way.
What have you learned through your experience as a Local Guide?
Being a Local Guide has changed the way I look at the world around me. I am more aware and appreciative of my surroundings. I have learned that my photos and check ins make a difference to people all over the world and bring them closer together. There are people all over the world doing exactly what I do; helping people feel comfortable about navigating the world around them.
Do you have any tips for Local Guides who are new to the program?
There are so many restaurants, cafes, parks, beaches, schools, office buildings, grocery stores, hardware stores are still missing because of the new taxi service like UBER and CAREEM facing issues to finding exact location, I suggest google to create more local guide in Pakistan and train them regarding creating check ins and finding missing place so that google map would be more frequently use by people in Pakistan.
