My last day in Prague.

![Do rolling suitcases even work in the snow?|1024x768](upload://cVBTYKLQDqOzatjj9GezvvSu2P2.jpeg)After a week in Prague in January 2019, it was time to leave Europe and head home to Colombia, with a quick stop in sunny Miami Beach.

The week had provided clear skies and mild temperatures. So I woke up Saturday morning in my hostel as usual and as usual didn’t look out the window.

My flight to Copenhagen was scheduled to depart at 10:50 AM, so I figured leaving the hostel at 9:15 would be enough time for the 45 minute trip to the airport.

When I emerged from the hostel, this is what I discovered: SNOW! And the storm was intensifying. Getting an Uber was impossible. Saturday morning and it is snowing. No cars were available.

So off I went trudging through the snow to the metro station, hoping I didn’t slip on the fresh snow.

I did make the airport on time. Only to discover that my flight was delayed inbound. I waited in the airport for 8 hours before my flight left Prague.

After over 500,000-lifetime air miles over the years, this was the longest delay I had ever experienced. My inbound flight coming from Copenhagen had tried to land twice in the snow in Prague before giving up and diverting to Vienna.

I missed my connection from Copenhagen to Florida. At least Norwegian provided a nice Crown Plaza hotel that featured a fabulous breakfast buffet, taxi service both ways, and food vouchers for the airport.

Thanks for sharing your Prague snow experience @FogCityNative . We had a few good dumpings this year. Spring has come early and we are now enjoying the outdoors again.

Thanks. I loved Prague. It was a very special place. Great food from my Pork Knuckle to Chocolate Pastry to a great last meal at the restaurant under the Charles Bridge. It was expensive but worth the money. I don’t remember the name.

i had great weather every day until the last day. And I like the snow. It wasn’t wet or super cold.

i don’t know if I will either get back there since there are so many places I haven’t been yet.

But you never know.

So sorry about the tragedy in Christchurch. Maybe if we are both lucky we’ll meet at Connect 2019?? Any tips for being chosen?

Level 10 is quite an achievement. Congratulations.
