Little did I know , this conversation with my friend while cribbing about the traffic jam would turn out so adventurous and inspiring for me.
I remember back in 2008, I visited Singapore and that time google maps were not prevalent thus as a 12 year old child I have those memories of holding a physical map and marking on it where to go and now I see everything available to us on press of a button. I try to recollect my memory from the tip but fail ( Thanks to my growing age). In the past 4 years I have visited 8 countries and thanks to google maps I never have to worry about remembering where I went , how it looked . Everything is available for me on the maps.
Coming back to how it started for me being a local guide, while looking for our destination me and my friend were struggling as some roads were under construction and we had to take a diversion. This led us to getting stuck in traffic jam where I was cribbing about how their should be a feature on google map to update about road blocks or diversion and then my friend replied how it already existed and he had been using it for a while. He taught me about google local guide community. Then one of my friends shared his success story about how google reviews on maps had helped him excel his business of small restaurant.
4 years back I was solo travelling and got lost in Germany but thanks to google maps I never have to worry about it as it saved my life then and now never gets me lost anywhere . 
These moments inspired me to be local guide , give back to the google local guides community and google maps for others too. It has just been 7 months since my journey and I am already a proud level 6 local guide with many ideas and aims. I want to find the best Indian restaurants outside India in every country, want to list all the local road side vendors with exceptions yummilicous cooking skills on google maps and help them in their business and also find the best authentic Indian state cuisines/dishes across India.
