Hello everyone,
My story as local guides has begun at exactly 7 years ago. At first I was interested in experimenting the new Google tool and I found it super interesting to be able to give tips and visit new places. It took me a while to be able to better use the system and at the time there were others that were even better known like foursquare, but the fact that I could participate in the Google community for me had more attractions.
I started visiting places that I didn’t know or knew existed, and then I added my passion for taking pictures as a must at every time I went to a different place, to show the dish and the atmosphere of the place. Today my photos have more than 7.5 million views. It is something really incredible for me.
As the Google maps grew, the desire to contribute also increased, as it seemed that I was part of something bigger and with a better purpose. The impression is that I grew with him and thus increase as a local guide.
When I think that in the beginning, nobody even knew what I was doing and today I see millions of people using and relying on it to make decisions about where to go and what to do is really great.
Over these 7 years, I had several cool experiences, of knowing places that were near to me and I didn’t even know they existed but one of the greatest happiness I had was seeing small and unknown places receiving thousands of views and positively impacting the lives of these little ones establishments. It really is one of the best sensations of this program.
This is a program that only tends to grow more and more and one of my biggest wishes after participating for so long would be to go to the next connect meet and get together with other guides from all over the world. Be able to exchange experiences, make suggestions and understand even more than this wonderful tool could provide us.
I hope you can have wonderful experiences like I already have.
