It all started when there was limited access to internet due slow and/or costly internet packs (5-6 years back). i was exploring my neighbourhood locality and city on maps, found places are with improper attributes,data so with willingness to correct those i searched on web and reached to Google map maker (website) and made many corrections, by stepping up started uploading photos of places through Panoramio (Website for photo uploading).
This way i continued until they discontinued or till i get mobile or google maps allowed edits to places inside maps app (don’t remember exactly), when my device got KitKat OS update i.e. it started supporting Photosphere mode so i throw myself into spherical photography also.
My intention for contributing as Local Guide is to improve maps so that new visitor in city, wanderers and even local person should get accurate details on google maps, when information is at fingertips and its wrong then it is of no use and if we have option available to edit those then we must correct those, nurture this electronic map so we can rely on it in emergency also. Other motive for contributing multimedia, ratings, views to maps is we can show, share our visited places ,experiences, views in it and later on show to our dear one who was absent on that moment; primarily its visible to all and main thing is its lifelong available for that place so its more likely working as private photo gallery sorted according to places and for places 
And with spherical photos , Virtual tours after returning home i used to show my parents and relatives whenever meet about my visited place so that they can have look to that place in 360.
upon all these without generating or adding my content i had even made correction to maps with just map marker re-locating, removing improper data, answering questions gives me satisfaction that i can introduce myself as proud Local Guide.
