There are millions of people like me who benefit from Google Maps every single day. I’ve absolutely enjoyed sharing my contributions because before going to a place, I always like to do my share of research.
It’s even more interesting to know how I got introduced to Google Local Guides program. It all started off with a wish - to let others know how great my favorite restaurant is, where I have been a regular customer since childhood. I hoped it could help the restaurant too! I was unsure of where to write a review and I Googled the name of the restaurant and there it was! I could easily give my rating and it prompted me to write a few words about the restaurant - I loved how simple it was! Thus, I wrote my first review and next day, I receive an email with details on how I could contribute more.
Over a period of time, I realized my contributions were being viewed and was making an impact - I was notified about my progress on a regular basis which motivated me to contribute more and help others.
Having livedin many cities in India, and knowing how chaotic your outing could be if you don’t find a parking space - I decided to include Parking as one of the points in my reviews. Some of the most popular eateries have very few parking slots. Many a times, my friends have chosen a different place to eat because of lack of parking. Being a person who takes care of these factors before venturing out, I liked helping others with the same information too!
