Hi Google Maps Community,
I recently submitted a review for [Insert Business or Location Name] on Google Maps and included some photos along with it. While the photos appear in my “Your Contributions” section, the written review does not show up publicly — even when I check while logged out or ask someone else to view it. It also doesn’t seem to affect the business’s overall rating.
Here is the direct link to the review from my profile:

I would like to understand why my review is not visible to others. Is it under moderation, filtered by the system, or possibly flagged for some reason? I believe it follows all the content policies.
Any guidance would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Swaroop Rane

Hi @Swaroo welcome to Connect, and thank you for asking.
First of all I want to inform you that, as you are asking for help, I am changing the category of your topic to Google Maps tips & tricks - Local Guides Connect, where it fits better.
I can confirm that your review is not visible, because I can’t open it.
A review can be made private because
the text or one of the attached media is supposed to violates the Maps user-generated content policy - Maps User Generated Content Policy Help.
In fact, with a quick check of your profile, I can see that 3 of your reviews and 18 of your photos are not publicly visible.
You can easily check what is not publicly visible by opening this link in a web browser in incognito mode and comparing it with your private profile in the App.
The fact that the filter found your photos and reviews not appropriate doesn’t necessarily mean that they are so. As there is a worldwide problem with fake reviews, the filter is usually very strong, and to have some reviews blocked it is quite normal. For this reason Google gives us the possibility to appeal, for a trained operator to check and even release what is found to adhere to the policies. However, as the process may takes up to two months, before to appeal i suggest you a few quick steps.
- check the policies mentioned above, and remove what is not pertinent, like duplicates photos, even if uploaded in different places. You have a few of them, and it’s better to fix it before to ask Google to check the profile.
- try to remove the photos attached to the hidden review, and repost it. If in this way the review became visible, then add the photos one by one, to find the one that is triggering the filter.
- if the review has no photos, try to edit a bit the text to see if it become public.
- if after that one or more reviews are not publicly visible, fill the appeal form: Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps

Please let us know if you were able to fix the issue, or if you need more help.
