Sharing local information with everyone who might be interested in the world is one of the best services Google Maps provide to Local Guides. Working on a volunteer basis, in my spare time, I prefer to correct old and inaccurate information about shops, facilities, public services, etc. When I discover a new shop or office, I’m collecting as many info as I can to add it on the maps. Some times also, when I see some wrong road info, like turning restrictions or dead-ends, I love to be the first one to submit this change.
My motivation of getting involved with Google Maps is probably because I would like to have for myself the most accurate and up to date info available, any time for any Point Of Interest you might think of. Thus I share this luxury with other people as well, as I think that someone else might need this crystal clear piece of info on the right time. This way also the customer loyalty of Google Maps increases, making this product a more stable and trustworthy application for everyone to use.
