The month of May has been an incredible journey for me as a Local Guide on Google Maps. I’m thrilled to share that I made over 2,000 new contributions this month, which included uploading photos, writing detailed reviews, answering questions, and updating important information for different locations. Each contribution was made with the intention of helping others navigate and explore places with more confidence and clarity.
One of the most exciting achievements this month was reaching more than 5 lakh (500,000) total views on all of my contributions combined. Out of these, around 4 lakh (400,000) views came from my photos alone, which shows how much people appreciate and rely on visual content to make decisions. This makes me feel proud and encourages me to keep capturing and sharing helpful images for others.
In May, I also had the opportunity to contribute to 145 unique and different places—ranging from local shops, temples, restaurants, to parks and lesser-known spots. Sharing about these places not only helps others, but also supports the local community and businesses by giving them more visibility.
Another proud moment was earning the Master Photographer badge, which reflects the quality and consistency of the photos I’ve shared over time. This badge is a symbol of the hard work and passion I put into every click. It felt great to be recognized for this contribution.
I also managed to maintain a 13-day contribution streak, meaning I was active for nearly half the month without missing a single day. This shows my dedication to consistently adding value to the platform and making it more useful for everyone. Every day, I felt motivated to do a little more—to capture something new, to write about a place, or to answer someone’s query.
Looking back, May was not just about numbers, but about the positive impact each contribution created for thousands of people. I’m truly grateful for this experience and all the support I’ve received from the Google Maps community. This journey inspires me to keep going, keep exploring, and keep contributing—because every small effort counts when it comes to helping others.
