My Google Map Explorations

Google Maps has opened the world to me. One of my hobbies is to open Maps almost every night and swirl the world around to see where I would like to go next.

Since I started contributing as a Local Guide, my aspiration was to not just share about restaurants or localities around me but to actually be able to share the fine details of every exploration of mine. From Bangalore to Bern, I have always loved adding colorful pictures of the places I visit, stay and eat at. It also gives me immense please to be able to find & add missing places (which are very rare to find as Google Maps has covered even small businesses).

I love the way google tracks places I have been to and allows me to answer questions to help people searching for something specific. It gives me great pleasure to see 1 million+ of views of my shots and makes me want to share more in detail. When I write the reviews, I make sure I mention the fine details such as bad roads, blockages, cleanliness, resource availability, hacks etc. This comes from the experiences I have had while searching the reviews / pics to find a particular thing about a place / hotel etc. Reviews that give me some tips are really helpful and so I try to return the favor done by my fellow Local Guides.

What I would like to do more going forward is to ensure I can pin smaller places which are important stops for travelers such as public toilets, ATMs, general stores, tea stalls etc. Also, I would love to add more videos and 360 Degree views of places to add to the visual experiences offered by my dear friend - Google Maps.

Hi @KatyaL

Thanks so much for retrieving this but since this post vanished and I had to submit my Google Connect Live application, I created a new post with similar content. If that is an issue, I would request you to please delete this one or merge this post with ‘My Google Map Explorations’ post. I intend to keep that post only.

Regards
