Whenever I needed, I always loved to be able to easily find on my phone all the businesses located around me that could help me with my specific desire: either a good restaurant where I could grab a good meal, either a place where I could entertain myself with my friends or just a place that I already knew about but needed indications in order to get there.
Great job Google! You proved to be a top-notch company, but above this, Google Maps stands out as one of the most helpful & useful products for all the people around the world.
I first started posting on Google Maps when I needed to add my Local Business on the map.
Since then, I kept interacting, either adding Local Businesses and other places for my clients, either adding photos (a photo = a million words, right?) and reviews that described my experience in that specific place.
People need ratings, they want to know other people opinions so they’ll know what to expect. They might also have specific accessibility questions and Google Maps will have the answers they look for, hence no need for an additional phone call to decide if that’s the place they want to go to.
Because of all these, I became an engaged Local Guide and tried to contribute as much as I could to Google Maps…it’s pretty easy. We take photos when we’re going places and when we get back on the road, the Google Maps app reminds you that you could help others by posting your thoughts about your experience in that specific place.
As I read many reviews of others, many have read mine. Google lets me know from time to time how many people I reached with my photos for example and in those moments I realize how helpful my contribution to Google Maps was, as can be yours!
