I am Ayebo Orimisan , a level 6 local guide. This is my 2020 connect live application post. It is about the most interesting thing I have done as a Local Guide.
I have a very good friend that I have known for about 5 years now. He is the manager and co-owner of KurllySue Unisex salon, a premium salon and spa service provider with good workers and state of the art equipment, but they have not been doing very well as customers are not coming in proportion to the facilities they have and the excellent service they provide. I became a local guide last year so I decided to add his salon on Google Maps. I collected his business phone number, his working hours and I took some pictures showing the front view of the Salon. With all these, I added KurllySue Unisex Salon to the map.
After a few days, Google approved of the place. His business started showing up on the maps as expected. He later went on to claim the business on Google maps, adding more details about the business and services they offer. Thereafter, his business became more visible on the maps which in turn led to business growth increased as more and more people started seeing his salon on the maps.
He was so glad and surprised that he called for a meeting of his staff to tell them what I have done for the business without collecting a penny, and how this visibility is the reason for the business growth they have been experiencing. He still could not believe that Google will allow his business on their platform without any charges or subscription.
KurllySue Unisex Salon is now like a landmark on the map as people using Google Maps can now come from anywhere around Isolo,Ejigbo and Ikotun Lagos, Nigeria to the Salon. This makes me smile as I have not only help my friend but also everyone looking for a very good Salon around Ijegun, Ikotun, Ejigbo and Environs.
