This restaurant isn’t far from where I lived but I hadn’t got any chance to try. One day, a friend and I wanted to have something different and were looking for an exotic restaurant, this restaurant then popped into my mind.
It’s my first time trying Russian food. Before visiting La Caverne, I didn’t know much about it (I assume Vodka doesn’t count lol), so this experience was going to build my first impression of it.
Luckily, my friend and I chose the right place. The staff was super nice and welcoming. Since we knew nothing about Russian food, he basically introduced us everything on the menu and recommended us some must-try specialties. If you’re curious about Russian food, it’s a perfect place to dine in Montreal.

Just for your understanding you tried georgian cusine. It is different from russian cusine meals.

Hi @Evgeniy_Belarus ,
Ohhhh I didn’t know that. Thanks for letting me know!
Is Russian cuisine very different from the Georgian one? What’s your favorite Russian dish?

Yes, they are different.
Georgians are using more spices and local herbs.
I personally like russians pancake - blini, the soup with sour cucumbers - rassolnik and salad “Olivie” .

Hi @helga19 , thank you!
I googled the cuisines you recommend, and kulebyaka looks very special. Is it a kind of salty filled pie? Hope I could find a good Russian restaurant in my city!
