You know you are in love when everything makes sense around a person, place or activity; this summarizes my journey so far with #GoogleMaps. I was on Level 6 before I knew about the #localguides program because I had grown fond of Maps for a long time.
You see, I had specific issues and #GoogleMaps was just apt for me - I used to be very shy so it was hard asking for directions in places I didn’t know, I can’t stage manage food that doesn’t taste well so I had to forgo meals I had paid for and I had been to places for fun and ended up summarizing that my 2ft by 4ft room afforded more funfare so I resorted to home-fun every other time.
#GoogleMaps opened up a whole new world for me with locations’ directions either walking or using any mechanized form of transport, reviews on experiences in places and the most amazing life pictures of places of interest. I don’t know how but it just so happened that I stumbled upon a #localguides meetup in Lagos where I met fantastic people who cared enough to post pictures, write detailed reviews, edit place markers and even take out time to respond to questions on maps all in a bid to help people around the world #l had found my Eden#. Oh, did I mention having lots and lots of fun while doing all these?
I was shown the way of the #localguide and its awesomeness. Its being f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c taking out my camera and phone for pictures to add to maps and doing reviews and edits.
I dedicate this post and my first million views to the persistence and resilience of @SanyaOdare @U-royFelixA @wildspan @Sagir @pwanaduku @BukolaAjayi @MrLabule @Sayo @Isaac_O @user_not_found
and all other #Lagos local guides making a difference out there…
