My adventure at Kuching, Sarawak…
Hi everyone! Apa khabar? Hope you are happy and healthy.
I have just returned from Kuching a happy Local Guide indeed. It is the monsoon season this tome of the year; rain and wind is a big challenge to exploring this beautiful land of the hornbill. Before flying to Kuching, I researched on local attractions, local food, business activities, charity organizations and local coffee beans. My favourite Sarawakian song is by Noraniza Idris .

Photo Walk: Kuching
Since arriving Kuching till departure, the weather was so unpredictable. So our meet up had to be flexible to the weather and available free time of my hosts. I must say, Sarawakians are amazing people. They are so hospitable that I was invited to their homes for dinner.
The photo walk was scheduled at 5:30 PM Friday, but since I arrived it was raining cats and dogs! So we took a rain check ( hehe ) to the original timing and rescheduled to 4 separate visits. This is the best trip ever, I wasn’t rushed to do photo walk, food tasting, meet local entrepeneurs and enjoy local coffee .

Thursday evening…
Thursday evening, I am honored visit the home of Datin Ellis Suriyati, a prominent icon in the community. She is such an amazing woman, helping the community for the last 38 years. Her daughter, Ms Elzadini Zaidi introduced an array of amazing personal care products made from local ingredients to try. I will definitely share my review soon.

Friday morning…
Mr Aruk, Ms. Jane and I went along the infamous Kuching Waterfront, where we walked along the river and visited the Chinese Museum. After having an amazing beef soup noodle called Mi Kolok, we went to India Street for a little shopping. We also sampled a tall glass of amazing iced black coffee ( Sarawak Liberica ) and bought some beans for my coffee bar.
Friday night…
Feast on seafood at the local food court. Needless to say, I went to bed with a very happy tummy. zzzzz…

Saturday morning…
Mr Aruk and Ms Imah brought me to the famous Satok Weekend Market . There, one can just look at amazement of all the cheap fresh produce being sold by the locals. My guides spoke to the shop owners in their mother tongue as we had good discounts on salted fish ( Terubuk Ikan Masin ).
Ended my Google Local Guide adventure with a quick tutorial session on Google My Business. Was honored to meet Mr Vincent who runs his father’s souvenir shop selling traditional carpets made from pulp ( called tikar mengkuang, tikar Sarawak). After purchasing some carpets, we sat together and showed him how to claim his business on Google Maps.
Saturday evening…
Time came, and I had to leave this beautiful city. God willing, I will return to meet my new friends. Possibly after the monsoon season…
I’m still editing the video and slowly adding pictures of this amazing trip, which is added continuously here.
@BudionoS I had so much fun that I wish I didn’t have to leave.
Maybe…just maybe…I might visit your city next…
