Even though I’ve been a local guide for a while I’d never been to a meet-up, so when I found out that one was coming up in Manchester I decided to go, and I’m glad I did.
We spent the day in Manchester China town, we watched the new year’s parade which was great, then we walked around looking at the different stalls.
Then we went for a cuppa and a snack.
Even though the weather wasn’t great the day was, I met John, Adrian and Peter and we had a chat about being a guide and I enjoyed our day.
Great experience, @Maria68 ! Attending Meet Up for the first time.
Before you go to attend this Meet Up, do you have any expectation about how’s the Meet Up will be held? And after attending it, do the reality could satisfy the expectation?
And by this first experience, would you still go to attend the next Meet Up, if there is any?
@Maria68@Congratulations for your first meetup. Keep up the good work. Hope you would like to see my previous meetup recaps as well which you can access from below link
@Maria68 It was great to meet you and your husband! Yes, the weather was rather cold and wet that day but we survived! Glad that you enjoyed yourself and thrilled to see you soon at our next meetup planned for this Sunday (9th Feb)!! Whoop whoop!
A couple of tips:
Use the @ to tag someone on Connect so that they will receive notifications! You can see and check your own notifications by looking at the bell icon in the top right of this page. Whenever someone mentions you by using the @, the counter for your notification goes up! As you have probably noticed, everyone has a username here. Unfortunately, you’ll have to remember the usernames for the Manchester Local Guides by heart (or make a note somewhere); John is @Johnbhewitt and Pete is @PeteMHW . This Sunday, you will meet Alan @deadmanjones and Zoe @ZoeOooe and hopefully @Castlefield_David .
You should try as much as possible to use your own photos that you’ve taken. If you use photos taken from the internet, it will most likely get removed by the Google Moderators and if you use photos taken by other Local Guides, you should give credit to them.
