My first meet up is approved!

Hi, Local Guides! :grinning:

I’m really happy to share with this community that my first meet-up was approved yesterday! I’ve been in this program for almost two years, and I finally felt encouraged to do this, thanks to my dear friend Valeria. She is an inspiration for me, and I’m glad she introduced me to Connect.

So let’s talk about the meet up!

“First I was afraid, I was petrified” Do you know that song or that feeling? I sure do. But when I started planning I was feeling so good though! Looking for reviews, searching through maps, watching some videos. I was ready to do it!

What are we going to do?

We’ll do a walk through a cultural center, “CCK” here in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and we’ll verify accessibility there and in the neighborhood.

In addition, we will see if there are alternatives for blind and deaf people. I would love to know if they have a guided audio tour, or if there are written descriptions for everyone to enjoy. Are floors ready to receive wheelchairs or baby carriages? Is there anything written in Braille?

Let’s find out on Sunday 15th at 2 pm in CCK.

Hope to see some of you there and I’ll be pleased to discuss with everyone what we discovered.

Thanks Alexandre! I’d love to! Never been in Rio before, but if I go, I’ll tell you so you can give me a local-tour
