My favourite kilo restaurants in Curitiba, Brazil

If you want to experience life as a local in Brazil, our kilo restaurants are a must-go.
It is important to go at lunch time, though, because lunch is the main meal in Brazil.
From midday to 2pm, people leave their offices, schools and even their own homes to eat in these places.
In a kilo restaurant diners help themselves, weight the plate and pay only for the amount of food they get.

Brazilians love the system because they can choose from buffet a variety of hot dishes, salads, meat, desserts and fresh fruit juices.

This week, find here more about lunch in Curitiba, which is an important city in the South of Brazil. With a population of about 3 million inhabitants, Curitiba is considered one of the best capitals for gastronomy in South America.

@SheilaLange interesting concept of eating by the Kilo!!:grinning::yum:

So I guess weight concious people may stick to one Kilo or less, from starters, main and dessert??

What’s the average people take ?

Good question, @Dinakar1 .

From what I have observed during around two decades eating by kilo, I don’t think many diners get 1kilo.

It depends on one’s appetite and weather (we eat more in winter).

According to a quick search online, the average ranges from 350gr to 600gr per meal.
