Cattle being one of the early animals to be domesticated thousand of years ago; there is special bonding between Humans and Cattle.
I want to share with you my favorite Dairy products as a The FULANI
I am inspired by @HiroyukiTakisawa#monthlytopic of November about Dairy Product.
You will all agree with me that Dairy products cannot come to be without Cattle. And My people (fulani) are cattle breeders from which all supplies of dairy products come from.
My Favorite Dairy Products:
We have different dairy products here in Nigeria that can be found in many places.
Fura da NoNo: this is a staple food of fulani (a locally made yogurt). The best gift of food a Fulani will give you is this. so nutritious and delicious. (it is my favorite food as a Fulani. lol).
Manshanu (cheese) : this local cheese is so aromatic when you fry it and add some garlic and onions. It can be used to cook or add it to already cooked soup as garnish.
I will leave you with these 3 of my favorite dairy products. If you find yourself in Fulani land give any of the above a trial and you will thank me later…
Informative post! I’m so sad because I probably can’t find them in Japan. Is Madara just milk? At least, I hope to try Fura da NoNo and Manshanu someday. Thank you for sharing
I think milk is one of the most universal things. Because there are many things to do. For example, yogurt is an invention of Turks and it is made with milk. It looks very delicious in what you share. I hope I may not say it one day.@Sagir
Nice post, @Sagir . I see, your people like dairy products in their natural state. We also like to drink pure milk (madara is pure milk, right?). And we like different yoghurts too. But yoghurt is not out traditional milk product, we drink soured milk (pure milk after staying during some period in warm place and becoming hard during fermentazing with milk bacteria, I haven’t photo by now, but hope you may understand what I say) or kefir, one more kind of soured milk, but using special kefir bacteria for fermentizing.
Do you make hard cheese also? Do you make cottage cheese?
Oh! I don’t know Manshanu but the type I am talking about is the one in Patrick’s YouTube video above. Only that they blend in the fura into the Nono in the blender @Sagir
