Hello, Local Guides! I would like to share my favorite meals in Trang, in the South of Thailand.
In Trang, the locals usually have Dim sum for their breakfast. You can find many restaurants served Dim sum in Trang which mostly open in the early morning and the food will run out of oven about 8-9am.
In Dim sum restaurants, they served not only Dim sum but congee , hot/iced coffee, hot/iced milk tea (my favorite drink!!), deep-fried dough stick, fried buns, etc.
Tips: Please arrive Dim sum restaurant before 7am, as after 7am you may have to wait for available seat. And most restaurants are local that is not well organized, so you may be upset by looking for the available seat.
Tips: Most restaurants have no menu, if you want to have Dim sum just have a seat first and recognize your table number and go to choose your Dim sum at the counter and tell the staff your table number. Then get back to your table, they will steam your Dim sum and serve at your table. For another menu, simply order the staff at your table.
Wow, This food looks delicious. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.
Do we need to make a reservation?
I hope that you reviewed this place on Google Maps. It would be really useful for future customers who are looking for more information about this place before purchasing from them or visiting them.
Thank you for sharing with us, as a Thai food lover I enjoyed reading all the details and the idea with the tips was amazing!
I was at a Thai restaurant in Sofia three days ago, and I feel I can go there every day even though it’s a bit expensive, but still very delicious. I took a noodle soup and several appetizers which I don’t remember the name.
PS: I’m sharing with you a photo of the soup that I had.
@Aruni Most Dim sum restaurants in Trang are local and have no reservation system. However, I will check if there are any restaurants allow us to make a reservation.
Hope you will have time to drop by Trang when you are in Thailand!
Honestly, I don’t remember the name of the soup, just that it was very delicious. Yes, there was coconut milk, chicken and other things inside. The taste was a mix of salty, sweet and hot.
@Aruni That’s look yummy!!! Are you living in Bulgaria? I’ve never been to Bulgaria. How about food in Bulgaria? Please show pictures of food in Bulgaria.
Having Dim Sum on every Sunday morning was our family tradition, to gather with all family and have a quality time. Nowadays, there are a lot of variations of Dim Sum and if you are still in Asia, I recommend you to try the soup dumplings, it is one of my all time favorites.
@AngieYC Wowww! So yummy! I used to taste soup dumpling once in restaurant in Bangkok, but it’s quite rarely to find this menu in Thailand. Where is your favorite restaurant for soup dumpling?
After reading your post @CiineRd , I would like to book my next flight to Trang! : )
There are so many tasty dishes to enjoy there. While I was in Thailand, I enjoyed the seafood a lot. I found lots of places to buy street food. Do you like this kind of dishes?
My favorite dumpling soup place is Din Tai Fung, I had this back home in Jakarta, Indonesia but this restaurant have a lot franchise restaurants around the world.
If you are planning to visit Indonesia one day, let me know and I will give you some recommendations.
@TsekoV I like grilled squid with spicy seafood sauce!! That’s so yummy! One of my favorite place for street food is at Amphawa floating market. The street food here is various, good quality and not expensive. And it is one of the real local floating market in Thailand. Do you know this place? I can share you my photos from this place.
It is very delicious indeed! I haven’t heard of this market? Is it part of Bangkok?
I would definitely like to have a long walk on this floating market and enjoy locals delicacies. It must be one of the experiences that tourists enjoy to do.
@TsekoV No, it’s in Samut Songkram district which is 1.5 hour from Bangkok. Although nowadays it was developed to be more commercialized, it’s still worth visiting as there are a lot of local boats sailing food (I mean real locals), street foods, touring boats to temples, moreover, in the evening there are night boat trips to see fireflies.
@Aruni Check this place out in your next trip in Thailand.
