Hello everyone, in this post I will try to tell you about my experience with the Google Local Guides Program❤️.
My name is Rolando Rivas, I am from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, México. I am passionate about technology,nature, adrenaline and water sports like wakeboarding and skiing.
I started to contribute with Google when one day a notification appeared on my phone that said “Hey, help thousands of users to know how the “Hotel -----” looks like by taking a photo” and at that moment I said “Of course” and I took the photo and I uploaded it to Google Maps. After that I discovered that there was a program called Local Guides, I researched a little about the program and I loved it, and from that moment I registered and did not stop contributing, and little by little I was discovering that at least in my city, there was not much information in Google Maps about some businesses, hotels, places to eat and visit, so I gave myself the task of starting to add all the missing information and correct what was already.
When I started to level up and became more interested in the program, I discovered that it could also be part of other Google programs such as apply for the Camara Trekker loan to map the world with Google, I applied and after a few months I received an email from a person who is part of the “Street View Special Collects” team informing me that I had been selected for the Camara Trekker loan and at that time I was the happiest person in the world😁. Although I do not have a date, I already signed a contract with Google to map some beautiful areas that we have in my region, I will share all that experience also when the process is finished.
Anyway, to this day I am proud to be a Local Guide level 5 with just over 1000 points and around 900 photos, a little more than 200 reviews, it should be stressed that
I really love😍 sharing pictures of places I visit and share opinions and reviews with anyone in the world who visits my city, I think that’s the part that I like the most because I can help anyone who visits my city to feel at home … I Love to belong to this program.
I love being able to say that until today, the map of my city is updated and with a lot of information that I did not have before, I think it is very beneficial for those who live here in the city because we have clear information about all Business but in turn, it is also very beneficial for people who come from outside to visit the city, because they find the information they seek and feel at home.
To finish, I can only thank Google for everything, for giving us the opportunity to help and trust us, and of course, to offer us rewards of great value for our work😀.
