I am a middle-aged man from central Kenya in the East African region who started using google in the year 2009. I remember i was introduced by my friend to try Gmail after struggling with spam mails for a long time, first, i just used the mail part but gradually i learnt about other google features starting with photos, Youtube, Maps, Contacts then drive and other better apps not necessarily in that order.
Later in life, i came across the local guides program from google through an email sent to me by a google administrator, upon exploration i learnt more about and became an active member.
Since then local guides have been like part of my life where i have benefited personally from guides available especially when am travelling outside our country, this program has made me more confident especially while travelling in very new areas to me, where i can walk to my destination without the risk of enquiring the way from crooks or people of bad will and therefore making my life safer inside and outside my home.
Local guide program also means that i have helped other who wanted to enquire or request certain info about other places that i am conversant with well, this means that our country being a tourist attractive one i have managed to guide quite a good number of tourists through to their destinations. This makes me feel nice and it means that i as a person i have changed the lives of other people for a better cause.
One last scenario is that local guides have helped me assist local small and medium businesses to get recognition and business from far and wide a good example is @Fantasy Bar & Restaurant and @user_not_found Rose Hotel in the coastal city of Mombasa. The above two are grateful to my reviews and mentions which have impacted on their revenues. (Photo attached to show views)… LONG LIVE LOCAL GUIDE PROGRAM.
