Google Local Guides is a program that encourages individuals to contribute information about local businesses, landmarks, and other points of interest to Google Maps. Local Guides are volunteers who contribute information, reviews, and photos to Google Maps to help make the platform more accurate and comprehensive.
The Rajshahi Local Guides, a community of Local Guides in the city of Rajshahi, organized a Photowalk event on Friday, December 23. The event began with a gathering at the Rajshahi University’s Sabash Bangladesh Sculpture. Participants spent the next several hours visiting various places on the university campus and taking photographs of traditional locations, important buildings, and public places.
During the Photowalk, participants had the opportunity to discuss various technical aspects of photography and share their personal experiences with one another. The photos taken during the event were then uploaded to Google Maps to help improve the platform’s coverage of the Rajshahi University campus and the surrounding area.
