It’s been quite a remarkable experience for me since I started the local guide journey. I’d like to give kudos to Google for creating such a platform that allows people to contribute to their society by showcasing information about spots and places which are relevant to various users who might need such information for travels, academic and other purposes.
I started my local guide job because of the passion I have in making information accessible to anybody, anywhere in the World, even about the inner most places thinkable as well as, oblivion of the country side. I understand the value of information and how having it at the tip of your fingers can make you achieve anything you so desire.
So far, I’m able to create new places on the Google map and identify some other spots in details. That to me, is adding value to my immediate community since am putting their name on the World map for people all over the world to access. Quite a few number of local food businesses and hotels have been identified here in Ado Ekiti, Nigeria and details about their mode of operations and offers were highlighted. So, it makes it easier for anyone coming into Nigeria, especially Ado Ekiti, to find hotels and restaurants that you can visit.
Nothing can be more fulfilling than finding a platform that gives you the opportunity to expose your culture and community to the World so people can have a more informed insight of our immediate community.
