My name is Luis, I am a 21-year-old living in El Paso, and I am a level 5 Local Guide on Google Maps. Being a local guide has been an exciting journey for me since I’ve been able to contribute my photos and thoughts and see other people’s contributions. I am proud to be a Local Guide since I enjoy answering questions about places that I visit and the idea of helping out other people is great. I think that being an active Local Guide is important since you are providing valuable information, your thoughts, and your pictures to those in your community.
Contributing as a Local Guide is vital when helping others with questions about accessibility for a local business or a parent who would like to see reviews for a driver’s education school. These are questions that are being asked every day, and I can share with others my own experiences. However, what I enjoy most doing as a Local Guide is contributing by taking pictures and uploading them for others to see! I like the idea of being able to capture a photo and being able to upload it to a platform of active users looking for the same place as me. I have always been a very visual person, and for that same reason, I love seeing pictures and comments of other people and their perspective on local places.
Sharing on Google is easy, which is a huge advantage for everyone. I value the time that many other local guides invest in reviewing and answering questions about the places they visit. Local guides get to interact in a platform where business can directly connect with their customers and connect with them. Together, we will be able to connect more people to the places they love and help each other out, one review at a time.
