My name is Chaplain Emmanuel Tangumonkem, a Community Health, Youth and Development Advocate and Executive President of Academic and Career Development Initiative Cameroon (@ACADICameroon) a community development organisation that works for the development of potentials and improvement of livihoods for all persons.
I am so happy to be a Local Guide because I have realised from the feedback I receive from Google that as I provide guiding answers to questions asked by people online with respect to the different locations I visit, the visibility of that particular location on the map is increased. I was thrilled when one of the photographs I took in a shopping mall in France was vowed by hundred of persons and comments were acknowledged by several persons including the management of the shopping mall. It showed to me the human face of the work that Google is doing. Google works not just to provide ICT solutions, but to also create interconnections among people and create platforms where human relationship can be strengthened and the value of human dignity upheld, as well as the respect of and preservation of the environment. Mother earth is endowed with beauty and diversity that paints every location with unique qualities. Local Guides through their work are able to paint this picture from different angles and that makes it altogether awesome. The learning and sharing are beneficial to me.
