My endless and undying love for taking photos is traceable to the English language adage that “A picture is worth a thousand words” Little wonder I get so excited whenever I receive that popular email from the Local Guides Team with subject: “Your photos reached a new record on Google!”. Many of my most viewed photos were not deliberately taken in order to earn me huge view count but I’m glad about the impact such photos had made in the lives of the viewers.
I remember vividly how I got busy taking photos during my layover at Amsterdam en route Lagos - from Atlanta. Meanwhile, Vizzit Store among other stores within Amsterdam Airport at Schiphol in Netherlands seem to catch my attention the most. Guess what? I checked same location on Google Maps prior to completing this post and I was indeed gobsmacked that my review is still the only one there. Even though there are photos taken by other Local Guides at that particular location, I’m super proud of my photos at Vizzit Store - considering that I took those photos with my Samsung camera phone.
My passion for taking photo is evident in several meet-ups I’ve either hosted or hosted by other fellow Local Guides and I attended. For instance, Lagos Amala Food Crawl, Lagos Boat Cruise Photo Walk, Lagos Wazobia Cuisine Crawl and many more.
Although total photos I’ve contributed to Google Maps thus far is 25,710, I’m not resting on my laurels at all. Instead, I’m poised to keep contributing more and more.
