Here is the video I have made for connect live 2020 application.
I thought of doing this video with a different perspective. Yes it is in 360 VR mode. You can rotate and see how my favorite place is actually look like.
But I’m bit worried that whether this would unqualified as application video.
As always super stuff @kasunaaa . it’s a great video. I hope you are going to do little enhancements before the application upload.
And I think it’s a very good thing you prompt the question as it is not specifically specified whether 360 videos are allowed.
On the contrary, it is also not specified that 360 videos are not allowed. My take is there shouldn’t be a problem with a 360 video. But better to confirm with the experts.
the shooting of the video in 360 is not a disqualification item, as far the video meets the requested parameter this is part of your choice where/how you want to film / edit your video.
@kasunaaa — this is a great Connect Live 2020 application video!
You have clearly answered the prompt: “Show or tell us about your favorite place on Google Maps and explain what makes it special.”
In previous years, applicants have submitted 360 Application videos from what I have seen here on Connect. There is no mention in the rules not to shoot in 360 this year as @LuigiZ has stated already.
i have watched your video twice. Once for the 360 effects and second time for sound at normal volume on my iPad. Both times I can see the 360 effects, your face, and can hear you speak clearly, even with the wind blowing at times in the beginning of your video.
Have you finished your Connect post and Google Maps list?
@KarenVChin thank you for your informative reply that flew my fears away. Happy to know that I’m not the only person doing video in 360. I hope my video pass through.
No I haven’t completed my post and the list yet. I hope to complete list and post within another couple of days.
@LuigiZ many thanks for your reply. I heartily congratulate you on your 360 video as well. Please share video with me as your have finished editing. I can’t wait to see your application video.
Yup, yup @kasunaaa all is good with your video so don’t worry! 360 videos are pretty awesome and if you can do it (as you have the hardware), why not!? Great video and all the best for your application!!
@ravindus Thanks fore the comment. It is always better to get ideas form experts before proceed application. That is why I created this post to get everyone’s opinion. Yes I did some quality improvements to the video as well. Bit color corrected and now it is available in 4K quality.
